Why make a change?

Read through our frequently asked questions to find out what the issues you’re having with your windows and doors mean and why you may want to make a change.

FAQs

Why does my window steam up?

Misted double glazing, especially when it’s cold outside, normally means you have an issue with the seals on your window. This can happen over time but also if the windows weren’t installed correctly. If your seals aren’t working as expected, then it allows moisture to gather in between the panes of glass in your double glazing. If you’re experiencing this, we can help you. Feel free to contact us to see what we can do.

Why can I feel a draught through my window or door?

If you can hear or feel a draught when standing by your window or door, it means that the seals aren’t working properly. This may be costing you more than sleepless nights too! It increases the level of heat loss in your home, which in turn could send your utility bills skyrocketing. If you have a window or door you need looking at, please get in touch.

Should I get insulated glass?

If you’ve noticed your energy bills trending upwards recently, insulated glass may help you combat this. Insulated glass helps prevent heat escaping from your home, which means your heating can be on less often. Use our contact us form if you’d like a quote for swapping your glass to insulated glass.

Can I replace the glass in my doors?

Yes. If the double glazing in your door has become misted, letting a draught in or just has a pattern you don’t like on it, you can swap the glass and keep the door. The bigger the glass, the more this will cost but it will still be considerably cheaper than buying a complete new door. Get in touch to see how we can help.

Can I get a new pattern on the glass in my windows?

Yes you can! If you have windows that are working perfectly well but they have frosted glass or a lead pattern design you don’t like, then we can change the glass for a style of your choice at a much lower cost than replacing the entire window unit. Sound interesting? Get in touch.
